Day 8

The Power in Weakness 💪🏻
We often approach weakness with the mindset that weakness is something to be overcome. Though, our true challenge lies not in our weakness, but in our failure to acknowledge them. The recognition of our weaknesses, and how great they are, drives us to seek God. Jesus exemplified this in his own life, praying and seeking God fervently. Considering the completely God-reliant life Jesus led himself, how much more should we embrace the power of prayer?
Reflecting on the recipients of Jesus's miracles, it becomes clear that those who benefited were often individuals who recognized their vulnerabilities. Consider the 'great' individuals of the Bible– their greatness stemmed not solely from personal strength or discipline but from acknowledging their profound need for God. To them, a life without God seemed hopeless.
As the message being echoed in 2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." This supports the idea that God's strength being made perfect in our weakness and further emphasises the transformative power of acknowledging and embracing our weaknesses in the God's grace and strength.
As we seek inspiration, let's echo the disciples' plea, "Lord, teach us to pray," recognizing that true strength emerges from acknowledging our dependence on God's higher power, instead of our own as what was written in Philippians 4:13 which states “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
