Day 6

Ivana
My feelings are not God. God is God.
My feelings do not define the truth.
God’s word defines the truth.
My feelings are echoes and responses to what my mind perceives.
And sometimes — many times — my feelings are out of sync with the truth.
When that happens — and it happens everyday in some measure — I try not to bend the truth to justify my imperfect feelings, but rather, I plead with God: Purify my perception of Your truth and transform my feelings so that they are in sync with the Truth.
From Finally Alive, by John Piper
When unexpected, unwelcomed problems caught us unprepared, we respond either by using Word of God as foundation, or our mindset and assumptions to react. However when our mindset is not anchored in God's word, it will result in toxic feelings: fear, worries, insecurities.
We are creatures of forgetfulness. Hence, the importance of meditating His Word day and night (Psalm 1:2) to transform our mindset into His likeness (Romans 12:2) and allow His Word to be our first inherent response in life.
Exercise your self control today, and may the Holy Spirit work in you, and through you! 🫶🏻
