Day 14

Day 14

Meivy & Jenifer

God has loved us first even before we love Him

John 3:16-17

”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Christmas is about God the Father sent His only Son to us, so we will not be condemned, but be saved. Even before we love God, or accept His love, He has loved us by coming to this world and be on the cross. His love is completely given to us, once and for all. And His love will not change no matter what situation we are in.

Sometimes, we tried so hard to do our religious activity, thinking that it may move God to love us more, to pour His love more to us. But the truth is that God wants to love and reach out to us more than us.

We are responding to His love by giving our life to Him, do the best for Him and serving Him with what we have. It is our expression of love to Him, but not to gain His love. But even when we fail Him, His love is still the same for us.

Our limitations, our failure, our mistakes and our weaknesses cannot separate us from His love (Rome 8:38-39). It is then well said in 1 John 4:18

”There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

The only thing that hinder us from God’s love is when we reject Him completely.

So, let’s receive and treasure His love to us. Be good and love our life as God loves us; and when we are full of His love, we can share it to others, so more people will accept and treasure His love.
